“The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne

“The Secret” is a best-selling 2006 spirituality book written by Rhonda Byrne and based upon William Walker Atkinson's prior works and school of thought. It has been released as an printed book with more than 16 million copies in over 40 languages and also as an audio-book. A film based on the book has been viewed by millions around the world.
“The Secret “ contains wisdom from modern-day teachers. Fragments of The Secret have been found in the oral traditions, in literature, in religions and philosophies throughout the centuries. The main theme is about using the Secret - the “law of attraction”. It says whatever you put your attention on becomes a reality in your life. You attract things, people and situations of a similar “vibration” to you. The universe is essentially energy that vibrates at a certain frequency. And each person is vibrating at a particular frequency.
According to Byrne, your “vibration” is determined by your thoughts and feelings. Think of yourself as a transmission tower, she says, broadcasting frequencies of thoughts into the universe. Change your frequency, via a change in your thoughts, and you can become virtually a new person who attracts different people and circumstances into your life.
As the creator, author, and producer of The Secret in both the book and feature-length film versions, Rhonda Byrne’s intention is to empower all others to live a life of joy.
The book and film have been highly controversial, and have been criticized by reviewers and readers as well. The book has also been heavily criticized by former believers and practitioners, with some going as far as claiming that the Secret was conceived by the author and that the only people generating wealth and happiness from it are the author and the publishers. Others assert The Secret offers false hope to those in true need of more conventional assistance in their lives.
Is the law of attraction really a secret? You may think it is all mystical rubbish but… let’s do it, there is nothing to lose.
